Mission To educate students of all ages, demographics, and socioeconomic statuses about the concepts of nutrition and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

To make these students aware of careers across the culinary industry that their upbringing may not otherwise expose them to.

To advance these students’ abilities in writing and public speaking.

To give these students another reason to love learning, stay in school, and develop to be the best people they can be. Description ‘First Grade Food Critics’ is a classroom-run movement to educate children through one thing they all love: food. Started by an elementary school teacher/food critic in Las Vegas, NV, this project merges one of the world’s most prominent restaurant industries with the hopes and dreams of students across the country. Field trips and class events featuring a myriad of incredible guests give the program its broad appeal for students, teachers, and sponsors alike. Chefs, restaurant owners, PR executives, [fellow] journalists, local heroes and even big-time politicians play key roles in speaking with the students and shaping their educational experience.
