We are getting ready to host our second annual Mesquite Pancake Breakfast at our Permaculture Learning Garden in Las Vegas’s first community garden. Last year was a great success with 50 people attending and plates stacked high with delicious mesquite pancakes. This year our pancake breakfast will highlight the foods that thrive in our dry land region that grow in our Permaculture Learning Garden starring, naturally, mesquite meal pancakes with toppings such as jujube butter, pomegranate and prickly pear jelly. We hope to inspire our fellow desert dwellers to explore the tasty and nutritious foods that belong to our local food heritage.
